In a dramatic incident, a man sought refuge in a bathroom while being pursued by two women, one of whom was the mother of his child, before they attacked him. The violent episode unfolded after Warren Harper, accompanied by his ex-partner Demi Oliver and Kelly Rees, engaged in a drinking session.
Residents in the area of Precelly Place in Milford Haven, Wales, reported hearing loud noises and music emanating from the household following a night of revelry. The trio, who were acquainted and lived in close proximity, were identified by Wales Online, with Oliver and Harper having a prior relationship and sharing a child.
The distressing event occurred on July 27, 2024, with Mr. Harper fleeing around the premises and barricading himself in the bathroom while Oliver and Rees attempted to gain access. According to prosecution lawyer Dean Pullen at Swansea Crown Court, Harper tried to exit the premises but encountered Rees, who had consumed crack cocaine, brandishing a knife in the kitchen. Subsequently, Rees wounded him on the wrist with a Stanley knife as he retrieved his belongings. Additionally, Harper sustained injuries from Oliver, who wielded a separate knife.
Following the attack, Harper sprinted upstairs, contemplated an escape through a window, but deemed it too risky. He then descended and managed to break free from the house while bleeding profusely. Harper was rushed to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, receiving treatment for stab wounds on his wrist and arm that necessitated surgical intervention.
Both Oliver and Rees admitted to unlawful wounding and were sentenced at Swansea Crown Court. Despite the incident occurring two years ago, Judge Huw Rees cautioned that the defendants would face immediate custodial sentences. Judge Rees emphasized the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim, stating they were substantial wounds rather than superficial cuts.
Oliver, residing on Precelly Place, Milford Haven, was imprisoned for 17 months. Rees, residing on Waterloo Road, Hakin, already serving a sentence for robbery in Milford Haven, was sentenced to an additional 27 months behind bars.
