A father utilized a mobile app to locate his 16-year-old daughter who was trapped inside a car that had veered off the road and landed in a water-filled ditch. The incident occurred in Iwade, Kent, where a Ford Fiesta driven by a 17-year-old boy named Adam Dudzinski, along with his girlfriend Chloe-Ann Naylor, 16, met with the accident.
Thanks to the Life360 app, despite the girl’s phone losing signal, her father managed to track her location and alert emergency services. The overturned car was discovered near Old Ferry Road, prompting a swift response from paramedics, fire brigade, police, and the coast guard. Sadly, Adam and Chloe-Ann did not survive the ordeal.
The surviving girl, whose identity remains undisclosed for legal reasons, recounted the events stating that the car had skidded off the road after Adam failed to navigate a sharp bend. The inquest revealed that Adam, who was unlicensed and uninsured, may have been driving too fast for the road conditions.
During the harrowing ordeal, the trapped girl was on the brink of drowning until Chloe-Ann, despite being trapped herself, encouraged her to unbuckle her seatbelt. Chloe-Ann, in a display of bravery, tried to keep Adam afloat in the water while repeatedly apologizing for the situation. Sadly, both Adam and Chloe-Ann succumbed to the circumstances.
Following the tragic incident, floral tributes were left at the site, and fundraisers were organized to support the families of Chloe and Adam. The coroner expressed deep sorrow for the families’ loss, concluding the inquest with an accidental death verdict and acknowledging the immense grief faced by all those involved.
