A social media influencer known for his presence on TikTok has issued an apology following backlash for his actions on one of the UK’s highest mountains. Tom Christopher, aged 25, sparked controversy when he hauled a bathtub up Pen Y Fan, the tallest peak in South Wales, in an attempt to set a world record for the highest bath. Christopher, a resident of Wales, indulged in a bath at the mountain summit but left the tub behind upon descent.
The stunt garnered significant public criticism, with a group of rugby players condemning Christopher’s actions as thoughtless. Admitting his error, Christopher acknowledged the mistake and expressed regret for leaving the tub on the mountain for 48 hours, citing his intention to allow others to enjoy a similar experience. However, his decision did not sit well with the general public.
The incident particularly agitated a team of rugby players who were hiking in the area and perceived Christopher’s actions as disrespectful to the natural beauty of the location. Subsequently, members of the Cardiff rugby team took it upon themselves to remove the tub from the peak after deeming it inappropriate.
