A mother labeled as the ‘world’s worst’ is facing a potential life sentence for allowing her spouse to sexually assault and impregnate their 11-year-old daughter.
Cherie Walker, residing in Oklahoma, USA, has been found guilty of aiding her husband, Dustin Walker, in his acts of sexual abuse, resulting in her facing multiple life imprisonment terms, as per the Daily Mail.
Following an investigation, Cherie Walker, aged 34, was convicted on six counts of child neglect after it was revealed that her 11-year-old daughter gave birth in appalling living conditions at their Muskogee residence, where she and her siblings were raised amidst unsanitary surroundings, lacking basic necessities and living alongside animal waste.
Prosecutors alleged that Cherie Walker was aware of her husband Dustin’s sexual abuse of their 11-year-old daughter but failed to intervene to protect the child.
Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson expressed deep concern over the situation, stating, “It’s very emotional to realize that a child at the age of 10 and 11 was subjected to such abuse, became pregnant, and went through childbirth without proper medical care, all within their uninhabitable home environment.”
The shocking revelation of the abuse came to light when the girl sought medical help after giving birth to her stepfather’s child. A DNA test confirmed Dustin Walker as the father with a 99% certainty, reported by news outlet KRJH.
Recently, Dustin Walker received his sentence for the crimes, expressing remorse during his court appearance.
Dustin entered a ‘blind’ guilty plea four months ago, admitting to six counts of child neglect and one count of child sexual abuse under 12 years old. The sentence, a 42-year prison term along with a life sentence, was determined solely by the Judge due to the lack of a plea deal.
Cherie Walker’s sentencing is pending following her recent conviction. Michelle Justus, Cherie’s mother who was present in the household, is set to stand trial accused of child neglect on Thursday, July 23.
