A popular figure in the bodybuilding community tragically passed away shortly after returning home from a workout session. Mailson Araújo, a Men’s Physique athlete with a significant following on Instagram, collapsed at his residence in Alagoinhas, Brazil on Monday night following a training session. Despite immediate efforts to revive him, including CPR performed by his nurse mother and assistance from emergency services, Mailson could not be saved.
The 35-year-old, who was gearing up for a major professional competition, had shared glimpses of his gym routine and physiotherapy activities on social media just hours before his sudden demise. While the specific cause of his death is still under investigation by authorities, tributes from the bodybuilding community have been pouring in.
Having achieved professional status in 2023 after winning the amateur title at the Arnold Classic South America in São Paulo, Mailson had a successful career with notable placements in various competitions. He was scheduled to participate in the upcoming Musclecontest Brazil 2026 event in Curitiba, marking his return to the stage after a brief competitive break.
In addition to his athletic pursuits, Mailson also worked as an online sports consultant, sharing valuable training, nutrition, and recovery advice with his online followers. Following his passing, condolences flooded his social media accounts from friends and fans alike.
