An 18-year-old kickboxing world champion is facing allegations of homicide as he prepares for trial next year. Tyler Ford, from Morriston, Swansea, appeared in Swansea Crown Court accused of the murder of 18-year-old Ceiran Evans from Gorseinon, who died in a road accident. Ford, a nine-time world kickboxing champion, was also charged with attempted murder of another individual. During the brief court appearance, Ford only confirmed his name and has not yet entered any pleas. The presiding Judge Paul Thomas KC scheduled a plea and case management hearing for September 29, with a two-week trial set to commence on January 11.
Judge Thomas remanded Ford into custody and confirmed that the defendant would remain in custody until the next hearing. The charges stem from a collision between a car and an off-road bike on Pen Cae Crwn Road in Gorseinon on July 9. The family of Ceiran Evans expressed their love and sorrow, describing him as a beloved individual with a kind heart, great sense of humor, and a smile that brought joy to everyone who knew him. They vowed to always remember and cherish him.
