“Teen on Trial for Fatal Stabbing at Train Station”

A 16-year-old boy is standing trial at Hove Crown Court for the fatal stabbing of Joshua Ingram at Seaford railway station in East Sussex on September 10, 2025. The accused, who has admitted to a charge of manslaughter, allegedly attacked Joshua with a knife without warning or hesitation.

During the trial, a friend of Joshua testified that the defendant approached them at the station, identified Joshua, and swiftly stabbed him before fleeing. The witness described the attacker’s calm demeanor and lack of visible anger during the incident.

The court heard that the stabbing was allegedly motivated by a dispute over a £20 debt related to cannabis. The prosecution presented Snapchat messages indicating the defendant’s aggressive intent towards Joshua prior to the attack.

In the defense’s statement, it was argued that the accused only intended to cause minor harm, contrasting the prosecution’s claim of intent to cause serious harm. The defense also raised doubts about the messages directly linking to Joshua.

Additionally, two other youths, aged 17 and 15, are also involved in the case, facing charges related to the stabbing incident. The trial is ongoing as the court continues to review evidence and testimonies.
