An individual deemed “armed and dangerous” has been identified as the main suspect in an explosion in Monaco that resulted in critical injuries to a Ukrainian oligarch, a woman, and a teenage boy.
Interpol, the global police organization, is set to issue a red notice for the woman, who is in her thirties, following the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Although not publicly named yet, the woman was caught on camera outside the Sun’s Palace, a high-end apartment complex owned by the victim Vadym Yermolaiev, where she is believed to have deposited the backpack that exploded in the foyer, causing significant damage.
According to reports from an investigating source, a witness identified the prime suspect as a Ukrainian woman in her thirties. Surveillance footage showed her wearing a black bucket hat and long-sleeved clothing while fleeing on foot into France without encountering any border checkpoints.
It is reported that the suspect was headed towards Beausoleil in France and has since moved on to Italy. Authorities have cautioned that she is armed, dangerous, and potentially accompanied by associates, urging extreme caution in approaching her.
Both French and Monégasque judicial authorities have launched a joint investigation into charges of attempted murder, placing an explosive device in a public area with malicious intent, and engaging in criminal conspiracy.
Stéphane Thibault, the Monaco prosecutor leading the investigation, stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect promptly.
