Man Banned from Alcohol After Bizarre Assault on Dog and Officer

A man has been prohibited from consuming alcohol after assaulting a dog and throwing a flapjack at a police officer’s private area, causing significant discomfort.

Kristen Naylor, 29, also launched a Pot Noodle at the officer while he was in police custody following his arrest for assaulting his father. Bolton Crown Court heard how Naylor attacked his father, John, who was recuperating at Naylor’s mother’s residence after a medical procedure.

The altercation began when Naylor returned to his mother’s house in a highly intoxicated state. An argument ensued between Naylor and his father, with the latter expressing his frustration and attempting to leave with his two dogs, knowing Naylor’s behavior when drunk.

Naylor pursued his father, demanding the return of his dog and engaging in physical aggression. Despite his father’s efforts to walk away and seek assistance from a neighbor for the dogs’ care, Naylor persisted in his violent behavior.

During the incident, one of the dogs was involved in the scuffle, prompting a call to the police. Naylor, resistant to police intervention, was transported to custody where he continued to act disruptively. He then assaulted the officer by throwing a Pot Noodle and a flapjack, striking the officer’s genitals and inflicting immediate pain.

Following the court proceedings, Naylor received a suspended 12-month sentence with specific requirements, including community service, alcohol abstinence, mental health treatment, and payment of prosecution costs. He admitted guilt to charges of assault causing bodily harm, animal cruelty, and assaulting an emergency worker.
