“Vacationer Pranks Sunbed Hogs with Itching Powder”

A vacationer who was tired of other tourists reserving sunbeds early in the morning took matters into his own hands by sprinkling itching powder on their towels. Tom Caunce, a 31-year-old holidaymaker, recorded the act and shared the video online. He targeted individuals he termed as “repeat offenders” who saved prime poolside loungers before leaving.

Expressing his frustration, Tom mentioned, “We have all experienced the struggle of securing a sunbed while on vacation. Many of us have endured waking up at 6 am just to have a chance at getting a good spot. On my recent holiday, I decided it was time to playfully retaliate.”

Hailing from Southport, Tom observed guests who habitually claimed the same loungers each morning without spending much time by the pool. His initial target was a woman he estimated to be in her late 40s. He discreetly sprinkled itching powder on one of the towels as a prank, but the outcome was immediate as the woman appeared visibly irritated upon discovering it.

Undeterred, Tom devised a new strategy the next day. Setting an alarm for 6 am, he observed vacationers heading to the pool from his balcony. He spotted a couple heading for the same loungers they used the day before and proceeded to apply itching powder to a hotel towel before they returned.

Hours later, around 1.30 pm, the man from the couple started scratching himself after using the towel. Tom described the man’s escalating discomfort, noting how the irritation led him to jump into the pool for relief.

The situation intensified when the man used the towel to dry himself, causing a widespread itch. The holidaymaker eventually abandoned sunbathing and sought shelter under an umbrella for the remainder of the afternoon.

The videos of the prank garnered a total of 864,000 views and over 13,000 likes, sparking mixed reactions from social media users. While some found it amusing, others disapproved of the act. The incident occurred in Majorca on June 6 and 7.
