Police are on the lookout for a suspect following the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl near a playground in Bath. Avon and Somerset Police reported that the incident took place in a wooded area near the Clarks Way playground in Odd Down on Wednesday.
According to officers, the suspect is a white male with a distinctive neck tattoo, believed to be in his 30s or 40s. He was seen wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and a cap at the time of the assault.
Detective Inspector Hannah Marsh emphasized the severity of the incident, stating that significant resources have been allocated to the investigation to identify the perpetrator. She urged anyone who witnessed suspicious behavior in the area or who matches the suspect’s description to come forward.
In response to the incident, additional patrols have been deployed, and the police are conducting door-to-door inquiries. The investigation includes a review of CCTV footage for further leads.
