“Man Faces £40,000 Dental Repair After Turkey Trip”

A man who traveled to Turkey for dental treatment is now facing extensive repair work as his teeth are deteriorating, potentially costing him up to £40,000. Danny Tomlinson, a 47-year-old wall and floor tiler from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, initially sought to address his dissatisfaction with his misaligned and discolored teeth.

Initially quoted £3,500 for a full set of crowns and a dental implant after having his natural teeth reshaped, Danny’s bill escalated to £3,900. Despite being initially satisfied with the results following his trip to Turkey in December 2020, he soon noticed issues arising, with his lower teeth becoming loose shortly after the treatment.

Over the past six years, Danny has made multiple return trips to the Turkish clinic as problems persisted. Despite undergoing further treatments, the clinic provided minimal feedback and only conducted routine cleanings during his visits. Recently, during his latest trip, the clinic informed him that several teeth were loose and quoted him £12,500 for additional procedures.

Now, Danny faces significant challenges as his teeth feel loose, impacting his ability to eat normally and causing him constant worry about potential tooth loss. He expressed regrets over not conducting thorough research before the initial treatment and wishes he had opted for a brace instead. With his teeth requiring implants and each tooth estimated at £3,000, Danny is grappling with the financial burden of the necessary dental work.

Danny has decided against returning to Turkey for further treatment and is cautioning others against seeking dental procedures there. He emphasized the importance of seeking advice from local dentists and highlighted the escalating costs and risks associated with dental treatments abroad.
