Three individuals have lost their lives in a fire that broke out in west London on Saturday evening, as confirmed by the London Fire Brigade. Approximately 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines swiftly responded to the blaze on New Zealand Way, which began around 6:52pm following 19 emergency calls. London Fire Brigade assistant commissioner Pat Goulbourne stated that the fire affected a single-story pavilion, with over half of the structure sustaining damage.
Firefighters rescued three men from the building, who were then treated on-site by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Unfortunately, two of the men were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third man was transported to the hospital for further care but later succumbed to his injuries.
The fire was reported at 6:52pm, prompting crews from various fire stations including North Kensington, Acton, and Chiswick to rush to the scene. By 9:25pm, firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the London Fire Brigade’s specialist fire investigation officers in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Service.
