“Urgent Update: Google Chrome Security Warning”

Google Chrome users are urged to take immediate action following an urgent security warning issued by Google. The tech giant has released a critical security update addressing 74 vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser, including a serious flaw labeled as CVE-2026-11645, categorized as a zero-day vulnerability.

Zero-day vulnerabilities are extremely risky as they indicate that cybercriminals may already be exploiting the vulnerability before users have the chance to apply a fix. Google has confirmed that the CVE-2026-11645 flaw is actively being targeted by malicious actors. The company has not disclosed detailed technical information or the number of affected users, citing that this data will be limited until a significant portion of Chrome users have updated their browsers.

To ensure protection, users are advised to check their Chrome browser settings by opening Chrome, clicking on the menu, and selecting About Chrome to verify the current version. If necessary, users should restart Chrome to complete the installation process.

Google has updated the Stable Channel to version 149.0.7827.102/.103 for Windows and macOS, and version 149.0.7827.102 for Linux, with further updates scheduled to roll out gradually.

Updating to the latest Chrome version is crucial in safeguarding devices and personal data from this newly identified security threat.
