A young couple, recently married, tragically passed away just days apart and were laid to rest together. Adam Hencek, aged 23, died unexpectedly at their home on Tuesday evening, followed by his husband, Tomas Feuller, aged 25, who also sadly passed away at home a few days later. Their deaths occurred just a month after their wedding day, one of the happiest moments of their lives.
A death notice for the couple highlighted that they would be deeply missed by their families, including Adam’s parents, Peter and Lubica, and Tomas’ grandparents, Jozefa and Milan. In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated on June 9 by Adam’s aunt, Mirka Kohutovičová, to assist with the funeral expenses.
Expressing gratitude for the support, Mirka mentioned that donations had poured in for the newlyweds, amounting to €12,070 (£10,352) on the launch day, meeting their funding goal. The couple’s public viewing took place at Condons Funeral Parlour in Clonmel on Tuesday evening, followed by a private cremation at the Island Crematorium in Cork on Wednesday.
Both individuals, originally from Slovakia, had been residing in Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary. The community mourned their loss, with heartfelt tributes being offered for the couple.
Friends and acquaintances shared their condolences and fond memories. Josephine, a friend of Tomas, expressed her sorrow, while Daisy Wn, a former piano student of Adam, remembered him as a brilliant teacher. Karen Douglas, who had met the couple through work, described their infectious energy and love for life.
The community has been left devastated by the untimely loss of this young couple, and the memories and impact they left behind will be cherished.
