Kim Jong Un’s sister defies U.S. on denuclearization

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s influential sister, Kim Yo Jang, has rejected U.S. demands for denuclearization, emphasizing that the nation will persist in advancing its nuclear weapons program under any circumstances. Kim Yo Jang, a key figure in the regime, stated firmly, “Our nuclear power status is non-negotiable.” She emphasized the regime’s commitment to enhancing self-defensive nuclear deterrence, calling it an irreversible and unconditional decision. Kim Yo Jang dismissed U.S. claims challenging North Korea’s status as a nuclear weapons state, labeling them as legally insignificant and not binding on anyone.
