“Friends’ £120 Day Trip to Italy: Verona & Lake Garda Adventure”

Two friends embarked on a spontaneous day trip to Italy, managing to keep the expenses under £120, inclusive of airport parking and bus fares. Megan Stiles and her companion Romany Coppola flew from Stansted Airport on an early morning flight to Verona for only £38 each for a round trip.

Upon arrival in Verona, they hopped on a budget-friendly £10 bus to Lake Garda, where they spent the morning exploring the picturesque lakeside town, indulging in shopping for souvenirs, and basking in the sunny weather. The duo then enjoyed a lunch break, with Megan opting for an £8 margarita pizza and Romany choosing a £13 penne arrabbiata, accompanied by an additional £20 spent on drinks.

After their Lake Garda adventure, they took a £6 bus back to Verona, where they spent the afternoon wandering through the historic city before heading back to the airport in the evening. Megan, a pasta and pizza enthusiast from Colchester, Essex, expressed her excitement about the affordable day trip to Italy, highlighting the overall cost of about £120, which she found to be significantly cheaper than a similar outing in London.

Their initial plan was solely to visit Verona, but a spontaneous decision led them to Lake Garda after hearing about it on the plane. This unexpected addition made the experience even more memorable for Megan and Romany, who cherished the opportunity to explore two cities in one day, a feat not commonly achieved. Despite covering an exhausting 25,000 steps throughout the day, Megan deemed the trip completely worthwhile.

Reflecting on the whirlwind itinerary, Megan shared that friends and family were amazed by their adventurous day trip, with many considering it a remarkable feat. Despite the physical exhaustion from the journey, Megan’s enthusiasm for the experience prompted her to plan a return visit.
