“Daring Couple Executes £231.30 Dine-and-Dash”

A daring couple pulled off a bold dine-and-dash move after indulging in Baby Guinness shots and steaks at The Halfway House in Brentwood, Essex, leaving behind a hefty bill of £231.30. Deanne Perkins, the establishment’s general manager, revealed that the pair strategically requested a table near the rear exit, suggesting premeditation.

The couple enjoyed multiple starters, two steaks, 14 shots of Baby Guinness, and ice cream before executing their plan. The woman discreetly exited through the front door while apparently on a phone call, with the man following suit through the rear exit. Surveillance footage captured them fleeing across the parking lot.

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, Deanne reported the incident to the authorities. In a bid to caution other businesses, she shared the video online, prompting the woman to return and pay £90 of the outstanding bill. However, the man has yet to make amends.

Deanne described the couple as seemingly ordinary and sociable, making their actions unexpected. The woman later claimed ignorance about the unpaid bill, but her swift departure to the car park raised doubts. Despite the setback, the public response has been supportive, emphasizing the impact of such incidents on businesses. Essex Police has been contacted for further information.
