The Kremlin has issued a warning to Western nations, signaling potential future drone strikes similar to the recent attack on NATO territory in Romania. The blame for these actions has been squarely placed on the UK and its allies by Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of the Kremlin’s security council and former Russian president.
Medvedev emphasized that the conflict is ongoing and stated, “Let them prepare for more incidents as this is a state of war.” He accused the West of instigating the conflict initiated by Putin, which has resulted in the devastation of Ukraine, attributing responsibility to leaders of NATO member states.
Highlighting the involvement of European countries in the conflict, Medvedev condemned their support for Ukrainian nationalists and the continuous supply of weaponry and intelligence contributing to attacks on Russian territory. The recent drone strike in Galati, Romania, during a Russian assault on Ukraine marked a significant escalation, causing injuries to two individuals.
In a scathing rebuke, Medvedev singled out specific Western leaders, labeling them as “scumbags” responsible for the ongoing crisis. He referenced a previous terrorist attack and accused these figures of orchestrating further violence and civilian casualties.
Despite condemnation from various quarters, Medvedev remained defiant, threatening more drone strikes in the future, particularly targeting European drone production facilities supporting Ukrainian forces. He urged accountability for the Western leaders perpetuating the conflict and causing harm to Russian civilians.
The escalating tensions prompted responses from NATO and Romania, with plans to bolster defenses and accusations of provocative behavior by the Putin regime. Romania took immediate actions by deploying F-16 fighters and expelling a Russian diplomat, further escalating diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
