Urgent Search Underway for Missing Teen and Young Mother

An urgent search is currently underway for a missing teenage girl who was last spotted at a train station late at night in freezing conditions.

Fourteen-year-old Maisie Cornish was last seen at Maidstone train station in Kent at approximately 11 pm on Tuesday, December 30. It is suspected that she may have boarded a train headed for London. Maisie is described as approximately 5ft 1in tall with straight blonde hair and blue eyes. She was likely wearing a grey tracksuit, a black bodywarmer, and light brown New Balance trainers.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have information about Maisie’s whereabouts to come forward. Kent Police stated, “The public’s assistance is requested in locating a missing teenager from Maidstone.” They emphasized the urgency of the situation and provided a physical description of Maisie for identification purposes.

Additionally, individuals have taken to social media platforms to spread awareness and express hopes for Maisie’s safe return. One Facebook user commented, “Hope she is found safe and well very soon,” while another urged Maisie to reach out to her family or a trusted individual if she sees the messages.

Meanwhile, a separate search is ongoing for a young mother who disappeared from a hospital shortly after giving birth. Authorities were alerted to the incident on the same day in Romford, East London. The woman, in her twenties, left the hospital and has not been seen since. The newborn baby remains in the care of hospital staff and is reported to be in good health.

Detective Inspector Neil Godwin, leading the investigation for the Met Police, stressed the importance of locating the missing woman promptly to provide her with necessary support. He highlighted her vulnerability due to recent childbirth and emphasized that the priority is her well-being rather than a criminal inquiry.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement expressing concern for the welfare of the woman who departed from the hospital post-delivery. They reiterated the description of the woman and urged anyone with relevant information to contact them. The statement included a reference number for individuals providing details about the case.
