“Ukrainian Forces Target Oil Facilities in Russia, Crimea”

Ukrainian military forces have conducted a series of attacks targeting oil facilities and a passenger train in Russia and Russian-occupied Crimea, according to official reports.

A significant plume of smoke emerged from the Grushovaya oil trans-shipment base, leading Russian authorities to dispatch 130 firefighters to extinguish the resulting flames.

In a separate incident, a Ukrainian drone launched an assault on a passenger train traveling from Moscow to Simferopol in Russian-occupied Crimea, resulting in injuries to the train driver and the unfortunate death of the driver’s assistant, as confirmed by Kremlin-appointed regional leader Sergei Aksyonov.

Following the attack, all passenger train services in Crimea were suspended, and affected passengers were evacuated with alternative transportation provided by Russian operator Grand Service Express through Telegram.

Russia’s Defence Ministry disclosed that 310 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight, including over various regions such as Moscow, western and south-western Russia, Russian-occupied Crimea, and the Black and Azov seas.

Conversely, Russia retaliated by deploying 155 drones against Ukraine, of which Ukrainian air defenses successfully downed or neutralized 124, as reported by Ukraine’s Air Force.

Ukraine’s General Staff announced that Ukrainian forces had targeted Russia’s Krasnodar Krai region overnight, specifically hitting the Grushovaya oil trans-shipment base near Novorossiysk, a crucial hub for oil and petroleum product trans-shipments in southern Russia.

Confirming the incident, Russian regional authorities reported that a Ukrainian drone triggered a fire at the base, with no reported casualties. Despite refraining from commenting on the extent of the damage, they mentioned the involvement of 130 rescue workers and 39 pieces of equipment in extinguishing the fire.

Additionally, the Krasny Yar “linear production and dispatching station” in the Volgograd region was also targeted, resulting in a fire at the site without any reported injuries, as per the General Staff’s statement.

Further strikes by Ukrainian forces were carried out at the Semykolodezkaya oil base in the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula, igniting a fire at the facility used for storing fuel reserves supplying the Russian military, the statement posted on Telegram revealed. Ukrainian forces also struck an oil depot near Feodosia in Crimea, according to the General Staff.
