“Trump Urges Ceasefire Amid Iran-Israel Hostilities”

Donald Trump has urged for a halt to the escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel. Taking to Truth Social, Trump emphasized the immediate need for Israel and Iran to cease their confrontations. The call for peace followed Israel’s retaliatory strikes on multiple targets in Iran, responding to missile attacks on its northern region. The fragile ceasefire in the area appears on the brink of collapse, despite Trump’s insistence on its sustainability.

Today, tit-for-tat exchanges led to a significant explosion in Tehran, as reported by Al Jazeera. Additionally, the Karun Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr, southwestern Iran, was targeted, according to Iranian sources. Israel Defense Forces confirmed their air force had targeted several sites within the complex.

In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for attacking a petrochemical plant in Israel’s Haifa, along with two military bases. While a short-term ceasefire was brokered earlier in April, permanent peace negotiations between the US and Iran have yet to reach a consensus.

Yesterday, Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps retaliated against northern Israel following Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Trump reassured that the recent strikes by both countries would not impact ongoing peace talks, insisting these attacks would not disrupt the negotiation process.

Subsequent to Trump’s remarks, Israel initiated a series of strikes on locations in western and central Iran. Amid the escalating tensions, Trump asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would ultimately align with the US stance on a peace agreement, emphasizing his authority in decision-making.

Trump’s statement to the Financial Times underscored his influence, stating, “He [Netanyahu] won’t have any choice. I call the shots. I call all the shots. He doesn’t call the shots.”
