TikTok Influencer Avoids Full Repayment for UK Return

A judge has ruled that a TikTok influencer, Harrison Sullivan, who was brought back to the UK from Spain in a chartered private plane, will not be required to reimburse the full costs of the trip. Sullivan, known as HSTikkyTokky on TikTok, had avoided court for almost a year following a suspended custodial sentence he received in November for crashing his £230,000 McLaren supercar in Surrey in March 2024.

After the crash, Sullivan failed to appear in court for 12 months, instead traveling to Dubai, Thailand, and Spain while continuing to create social media content. He was eventually detained in Spain for unrelated matters last August, and Surrey Police spent approximately £15,000 on a chartered flight to bring him back to the UK. The total expenses incurred by Surrey Police and the Crown Prosecution Service to repatriate Sullivan amounted to £28,350.27.

However, the district judge, Julie Cooper, decided not to order Sullivan to repay the entire flight costs, deeming the use of a private jet as “unnecessary or disproportionate.” The judge mentioned that a risk assessment by the National Extradition Unit influenced this decision, although the specifics were not disclosed in court.

During the hearing, prosecution Kane Alexander raised concerns that Sullivan, a fitness influencer, could be identified by the public on a commercial flight. Judge Cooper questioned the necessity of chartering a private jet when alternative arrangements could have been made to protect Sullivan’s privacy during transit.

Sullivan’s defense solicitor, Shalin Sood, expressed surprise at the use of a private jet, highlighting Sullivan’s cooperation during his time in police custody. The judge ordered Sullivan to pay £9,270 in prosecution costs and £8,050.27 in police costs, totaling £17,320.27. Despite claims of financial limitations by Sullivan’s legal team, Judge Cooper granted him six months to make the payment.

In a previous court appearance, Sullivan received a one-year suspended custodial sentence for dangerous driving and driving without insurance, leading to a two-year driving ban. He is also required to wear an electronic tag for three months, perform 300 hours of unpaid work, and undergo 30 days of rehabilitation. Witnesses had reported seeing Sullivan speeding in his McLaren before the crash, with data indicating he was traveling at 71mph in a 40mph zone.

Sullivan, a social media personality, is expected to feature in a Netflix documentary with Louis Theroux exploring the impact of online misogyny on young boys. In response to past controversial remarks, Sullivan expressed indifference, stating, “I’m all those things. Say what you want about me, I am that, cool. I don’t care. And what?”
