“Manhunt Underway: Police Seek Armed Suspect in Bangor Attack”

Police have unveiled a photo of a “person of interest” following a violent incident where a man wielding a hammer and knife broke into a residence and attacked a man and woman. Law enforcement officers are currently present at the location in Chippendale Avenue, Bangor, Co Down, Northern Ireland, where the assault occurred on Christmas Eve, resulting in injuries to two individuals. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has cautioned the public against approaching the individual. The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short dark hair, dressed in a blue hoodie, grey coat, dark T-shirt, blue jeans, and dark trainers with white soles.

A police spokesperson disclosed that at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24th, authorities received a distress call reporting that an armed man had entered a residential property, assaulted a woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s with a hammer and knife, and subsequently fled the scene on foot while still armed.

The injured parties were swiftly taken to the hospital for medical attention, with one individual previously stated to be in critical condition by the police.

The PSNI representative stated, “An investigation is in progress, and intensive efforts are underway to locate the suspect. We urge the public not to approach him if sighted but to maintain a safe distance and promptly contact the police at 101, quoting reference number 914 of 24/12/25.”
