Two individuals have lost their lives in a serious collision involving four vehicles, with one person arrested for suspected drug driving. The tragic incident occurred in Shenleybury, Hertfordshire, on Sunday evening, where the drivers of a black Vauxhall Astra and a silver Toyota Yaris were pronounced dead at the scene.
Law enforcement responded to the scene to find a total of four vehicles, including a black Vauxhall Astra, a silver Mercedes Vito, a silver Toyota Yaris, and a black Hyundai i30. The collision resulted in the fatalities of the Astra and Yaris drivers, while a 27-year-old man driving the Hyundai was taken into custody on allegations of causing death by dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs, and leaving the scene.
The individual has been released on bail as investigations continue. Detective Sergeant Ben Heath, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased individuals and urged anyone with relevant information or dash cam footage to come forward to aid the ongoing inquiry.
