Social Media Star Rescued From Waterfall Peril

A social media figure found herself caught in a swiftly flowing river while attempting to rescue her dog during a picturesque vacation. Cass Aragón narrowly escaped plummeting over a 140ft waterfall when her swimsuit caught on a rock. The terrifying incident occurred shortly after she arrived at the scenic location to camp with friends.

Her canine companion, Chabelo, leaped into the water for a swim and was immediately carried away by the strong current. Despite having a substantial online following of 400,000 on TikTok and 187,000 on Instagram, Cass jumped in to save her pet but was quickly overpowered by the force of the water.

Chabelo, a dog she had rescued when he was abandoned, managed to reach safety while Cass was tossed around by the current, likening the experience to being in a washing machine or a ping-pong ball. Fortunately, her swimsuit got snagged on a rock just three meters away from the edge of the massive waterfall.

The harrowing event took place at the Pulhapanzak waterfalls in Peña Blanca, northern Honduras. The urgent barking of Chabelo alerted a zip-line guide above, who spotted the distressed influencer and promptly raised the alarm.

Two local individuals braved the dense undergrowth to rescue her. Recalling the incident, Cass, hailing from Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, expressed gratitude towards her rescuers, particularly a man wearing the Mexico national team shirt, whom she thought of as an angel.

Suffering from three broken ribs, severe head injuries, and numerous cuts and bruises, Cass was swiftly taken to a nearby clinic by park staff for urgent medical attention. She commended Dr. Yonari Velázquez for treating her injuries with skill and compassion, but due to the extent of her injuries, she must return to Mexico for a full recovery.

Despite the traumatic experience, Cass, on her way to Panama in her pink Volkswagen camper van La Lupita, bears no resentment, emphasizing her love for Honduras and its people. She credited the locals and park personnel for saving her life and stressed the importance of adhering to safety guidelines in natural environments.

She expressed her appreciation for those who rescued her and the park team that facilitated her medical care. Cass urged her audience to heed safety precautions and warning signs when visiting natural attractions.
