Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi decided to break a long-standing royal tradition just before their wedding ceremony six years ago. Their intimate nuptials took place on July 17, 2020, amidst Covid-19 restrictions, with only close family and friends present, including the late Queen, Prince Philip, Princess Eugenie, and Beatrice’s parents.
In a departure from tradition, the couple chose to spend the night together before exchanging vows, deviating from the usual practice of couples spending the night apart. This decision was contrary to the custom followed by most other royals, like Princess Kate and Meghan Markle, who spent the night before their weddings separately.
Beatrice and Edoardo shared a glimpse of their special day with two photos released the day after their wedding, featuring them leaving the church and posing with the Queen and Prince Philip. Beatrice wore a vintage dress borrowed from Queen Elizabeth, along with the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, adding a touch of royal elegance to her wedding ensemble.
