Wrong-Way Driver Tragedy Shuts Down M62

A tragic accident claimed the life of a woman on a busy motorway where she was reported to have been driving in the wrong direction. The incident occurred on the M62 in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, prompting swift response from emergency services following reports of the crash late on Saturday night.

The collision involved a grey Nissan Juke and a grey BMW X5 between Junction 21 and 22 on the eastbound side of the motorway. The stretch of the motorway remains closed as a result of the tragic event, with a woman in her 50s losing her life at the scene.

According to a statement from Greater Manchester Police, the Nissan driver was traveling in the opposite direction on the carriageway when the collision with the BMW occurred.
