“From Pods to Liquid: A Laundry Routine Revolution”

Laundry chores can often feel like a never-ending task that many people, including myself, do not look forward to. Despite the constant cycle of washing, there always seems to be more waiting to be done.

The thought of handling even more laundry if I had a larger household is quite daunting, but it remains an essential part of daily life. After sticking to the same laundry routine for years, I finally made a simple change that significantly improved the process.

Previously, my routine involved segregating light and dark clothes, using laundry pods, air-drying, ironing, and repeating the cycle. While experimenting with various laundry pod brands, I encountered a common issue of pods exploding during washing, especially in white loads, leaving stubborn stains.

In search of a solution, I decided to switch to liquid detergent, a simple yet impactful change. The cost-effectiveness of liquid detergent, exemplified by my purchase of Almat in Tropical Lily scent from Aldi for just £1.79, covering 28 washes, was a pleasant surprise.

Abandoning fabric softener due to its potential to stiffen clothes over time, I started using a capful of detergent per wash. Though the extra step of measuring detergent added a bit more effort, the results in terms of softness were worth it, even without a dryer.

The switch to liquid detergent not only eliminated stubborn stains but also provided a longer-lasting freshness to clothes, a benefit that was sometimes lacking with laundry pods. Moreover, the reduced plastic packaging of liquid detergent aligns with environmental concerns, despite minor spillage inconveniences.

For those looking to revamp their laundry routine, transitioning from pods to liquid detergent comes highly recommended.
