Authorities have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a deceased man in a caravan situated in Loughborough.
Leicestershire Police received a notification around 11.40pm on Monday regarding a “sudden death” incident at a caravan on Derby Road. The East Midlands Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and confirmed the man, aged in his 40s, as deceased.
Law enforcement disclosed that the man had been engaged in a prior altercation before his demise. A 56-year-old suspect has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder and is currently being held, stated the police on Wednesday.
Ongoing inquiries are being conducted by officers to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s passing. According to Leicestershire Live, authorities are conducting forensic investigations in the vicinity.
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, commented, “I have a dedicated team of officers working to comprehend the circumstances of this altercation and the events leading to the man’s demise.
“Investigators will be present in the Derby Road area in the upcoming days, conducting inquiries and forensic analyses. A cordon will be maintained during the investigative process.”
