Queen Camilla surprised attendees at Wimbledon today by interacting with a former tennis champion before heading to the royal box. Accompanied by her sister Annabel Elliot, the Queen visited the players’ area to meet with Wimbledon staff, players, and local workers.
During her visit, Camilla chatted with former British number one Heather Watson, who described the Queen as “super down-to-earth” and expressed delight in meeting her. Watson shared her nerves at meeting the Queen, who inquired about her Wimbledon experiences and tennis career.
Camilla also engaged with ball boy Zebedee from Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School and ball girl Aniya from The Tiffin’s Girl School. Both youngsters appreciated the experience, with Zebedee calling it “very special” and Aniya describing it as an “amazing opportunity.”
In addition to Camilla’s presence, other royals, including newlyweds Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, were spotted at Wimbledon. Princess Kate recently featured on a special episode of ‘Overheard at Wimbledon,’ a series capturing conversations among spectators at the tennis tournament.
This royal outing occurred shortly after Kate’s visit to Wimbledon last week, where she cheered for Brit Arthur Fery during his match against Otto Virtanen. Queen Camilla’s appearance on day ten of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships added to the royal presence at the prestigious event.
