Freeview, the popular television service, has announced significant changes in its TV guide, including channel position adjustments and a rebranding. The latest update reveals that Talk (Ch 280), a British news channel known for debate and opinion-led journalism, will no longer be accessible on Freeview. Viewers interested in watching Talk can now access the service via the official Talk app or other platforms like Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.
Additionally, Freeview’s update includes the rebranding of Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 to Wedotv. Furthermore, three services on the planner will be relocated, with Ketchup TV moving from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too shifting from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics now available on Ch 210 instead of Ch 214.
Freeview confirms that on June 25, 2026, some broadcasters will implement channel changes. Channels on Freeview continually evolve as broadcasters make decisions to relocate, add, or remove channels to offer audiences diverse content options.
To ensure that your TV displays all the correct channels, users need to access the settings and perform a retune. Freeview advises users to retune their TVs by following these steps:
– Press the menu on your TV remote control or box.
– Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’, or a similar option, and enter the default password if prompted.
– Choose ‘first-time installation’ or a similar option to initiate the retune process.
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels if prompted and let the retune process begin automatically. Save any found channels if necessary.
