A young man, aged 21, has been accused of murder following a deadly stabbing incident in west London last week, as confirmed by the authorities. Identified as Awap Halouf, residing in Hambro Road, Lambeth, south London, he was apprehended in Cardiff on Sunday under suspicion of the crime.
The Metropolitan Police disclosed that the 21-year-old was subsequently formally charged with both murder and the unlawful possession of a blade in a public area. The arrest transpired after law enforcement and medical responders were summoned to a reported stabbing at the intersection of Bath Road and Great Southwest Road in Hounslow, west London, around 1:47 am last Tuesday.
Upon arrival at the scene, police, alongside the London Ambulance Service, discovered Haruun Hassan suffering from severe injuries, as stated by the Met Police. Regrettably, Mr. Hassan, aged 22, succumbed to his injuries despite the diligent efforts of paramedics, leading to an immediate launch of an investigation by the authorities.
Halouf has been detained in custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in south-west London on Tuesday. Additionally, a 21-year-old woman was also arrested in Cardiff on Sunday on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail pending further investigation.
The family of Haruun Hassan is being provided ongoing support by specialized officers, according to the police.
