“Welsh Restaurant Frustrated as Customers Skip £115 Bill”

Two customers at El Puerto restaurant in Penarth, south Wales, have caused frustration by leaving without paying their £115 bill. The incident, captured on CCTV, showed the couple enjoying a meal and drinks before making a swift exit from the premises. The restaurant owner, Tanny Martinez, expressed disappointment over the situation, emphasizing the financial challenges already faced by the hospitality industry.

The unpaid bill consisted of items such as an all-day set menu, Dover sole meal, calamari, and soft drinks. Martinez highlighted the impact of such incidents on the morale and well-being of the restaurant’s team, as their efforts to create exceptional customer experiences were disregarded. Despite the setback, the restaurant received overwhelming support from the local community.

According to the restaurant’s marketing team, the customers left discreetly when the staff was not looking, prompting a futile attempt by the manager to address the situation. The matter has been reported to South Wales Police for further investigation. Anyone with information related to the incident has been urged to contact the authorities, quoting the reference number provided.
