Two individuals successfully reached the summit of the Empire State Building in New York City and displayed a large banner, with one person seemingly proposing to the other afterward. The duo, a man, and a woman were spotted ascending the broadcast antenna atop the iconic structure while donning masks.
Upon reaching the pinnacle of the antenna, positioned 443 meters (1,454 feet) above the New York streets, they unveiled a significant banner bearing the message: “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace,” as reported by CBS news.
Following their ascent to the radio and television transmission tower for this daring act, the pair commenced their descent. Upon reaching a lower platform, the man knelt down and appeared to propose to the woman. They shared a heartfelt embrace, with the woman removing her mask for a kiss.
Authorities dispatched a police helicopter to the scene, prompting the pair to begin their descent around 12.35 pm local time. Initially, the observation deck below the mast and platform where the proposal occurred was filled with onlookers, but it was eventually evacuated.
