Among the fans are Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, who are set to attend a darts tournament featuring them at Madison Square Garden before catching Thomas Tuchel’s team in action. Littler, a devoted Manchester United fan, and Humphries, a Leeds United supporter, share a passion for major sporting events, having been seen together at the Cheltenham races earlier this year.
Tuchel and his team are scheduled to fly from their Kansas City base to New York on Friday, where the weather for the match is expected to be a cool 23°C. Fans have traveled from the previous England game in Boston using various modes of transport such as planes, trains, cars, and buses, with many arriving at different stations and terminals in New York.
At the popular “Football Factory” pub beneath the Empire State Building, fans gathered to watch other World Cup matches on TV. Mark Harrison, a fan from Bedford, expressed his excitement for the game and hopes for England to top the group to face Mexico and Brazil in the following rounds.
Another fan, Mark Trigg, along with fellow fans, has embarked on a remarkable World Cup journey across America, visiting different cities for the friendlies. Despite facing travel challenges, they remain committed to supporting England throughout the tournament.
Ian Henderson, a Newcastle United fan, highlighted the vibrant atmosphere expected at the MetLife venue, which is hosting the World Cup matches. The stadium, known for its capacity of 87,000, is set to provide an exceptional experience for England fans.
