“Tragedy on Flight: Passenger Dies after Being Restrained”

A man who was restrained during a flight from Cyprus to Manchester has passed away. Callum Kerr was on a Jet2 flight from Larnaca to Manchester on June 21 with his girlfriend when he reportedly became disruptive and aggressive after consuming a significant amount of alcohol. Fellow passengers restrained him, and upon landing, he was found unresponsive. Mr. Kerr, in his 30s, has since died. Police responded to a reported assault on the flight upon its arrival at Manchester Airport in the early hours of June 22.

Video footage online showed officers boarding the aircraft and discovering Mr. Kerr, a bareknuckle boxer, not breathing. Immediate CPR was administered, along with the use of a defibrillator, before he was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Tributes on social media mourned his passing.

An investigation is underway, as Greater Manchester Police spokesperson stated that a man fell critically ill following reports of his disruptive behavior towards passengers and crew. Jet2 confirmed the incident on flight LS966 and the priority landing request due to a disruptive passenger. The airline mentioned a passenger being hospitalized but refrained from further comments pending the investigation.
