An astonishing incident was captured on dashcam footage showing a Coca-Cola lorry colliding with an SUV at a busy junction. The lorry driver in Sydney, Australia, miraculously escaped with minor injuries after the violent crash caused the truck’s cab to separate from the vehicle.
The entire event was recorded on camera and has since become viral on social media platforms. The red Coca-Cola lorry was traveling through Mascot, a suburb of Sydney, when the collision occurred at the intersection of King St and Botany Rd with a white 4WD vehicle.
Video footage from a Facebook group, Dashcam Australia, depicted the lorry passing through a green light before the white SUV attempted a right turn, leading to the collision. The sound of a horn blaring was followed by gasps from witnesses as the vehicles collided.
Witnesses could be heard reacting in shock as the Coca-Cola lorry slid forward on the road surface. The impact was so severe that the cab of the lorry tipped forward, causing it to detach with the driver still inside. Another lorry narrowly avoided the collision by braking in time.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, with the 29-year-old lorry driver being taken to the hospital for minor injuries as a precaution. Fortunately, the occupants of the white SUV emerged unharmed. Police are currently investigating the incident.
