“England’s No. 1 Fan Lands Luxury Accommodations in U.S.”

England’s top supporter, known as the No. 1 fan, received overwhelming offers of assistance from the United States after the Mirror disclosed his intention to sell his residence to finance his World Cup journey. However, Andy Milne, aged 63, was presented with an irresistible offer: complimentary hotel stays before and after England’s matches throughout the tournament. The former educator is poised to gain recognition on both sides of the Atlantic when the global event commences on June 11.

An advertisement for the Hilton hotel chain will feature Andy alongside England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, former player Ray Parlour, and Lioness Legend Jill Scott. Andy and his best friend will lodge at Hilton hotels near match venues across the U.S., where he will be featured in television commercials donning the beer-resistant ‘Three Lidls’ shirt, reaching millions of viewers.

To finance his trip, Andy listed his second property in Northwich, Cheshire, for sale at £350,000. The expenses for hotel accommodations were estimated at £35,000 for Andy and his companion, covering England’s two Florida friendlies this week and the entire 39-day World Cup event.

The generosity of the Hilton has saved Andy a substantial sum. Following the Mirror’s coverage, he received sponsorship offers from various prominent brands such as Sports Direct, Lidl, as well as eateries and bars in the U.S., including a cryptocurrency company and a casino.

Nicknamed ‘World Cup Guy’ after being spotted with a replica trophy in Qatar, Andy expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, including offers of accommodation, meals, and media appearances across Dallas. The Hilton’s outreach secured him accommodation for his U.S. stay, along with a featured role in a television advertisement.

Following the tournament, Andy, soon-to-be known as ‘Grandee Andy,’ will be traveling to Australia with his wife Achla, 63, to meet his daughter and expectant mother Laila. Should England emerge victorious, Andy plans to update his newly-published memoir ‘World Cup Guy’ to encompass the pinnacle of his life journey following the national team.

Andy gained recognition during the Qatar tournament for his celebratory display with a replica Jules Rimet trophy after England’s 3-0 triumph over Senegal in the round of 16, capturing global admiration through the Mirror’s coverage.

Stijn Bastiaens, Vice President of Marketing and Loyalty at Hilton EMEA, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting England fans, like Andy, by providing premium hotel accommodations for his 10th World Cup experience. Hilton’s initiative extends beyond hospitality, featuring Andy alongside football icons in their promotional campaign.

Andy’s book, ‘That World Cup Guy,’ is currently available for purchase.
