“Trump’s White House UFC Event Flops Amid Celebrity Snubs”

Donald Trump faced embarrassment leading up to his birthday as notable figures failed to show up for his anticipated White House UFC event. The President, along with his supporters, eagerly awaited UFC 250—an event organized by Dana White to be held on the South Lawn on his 80th birthday. Despite expectations of a gathering of prominent Trump allies and associates, the event did not gain significant public interest.

Approximately 4,000 attendees were expected at the event, but only a few celebrities with widespread appeal, who were personally invited by White, the president and CEO of UFC, were anticipated to be present. White mentioned in a recent interview with Time Magazine that invites were extended to renowned actors, including Adam Sandler, Guy Ritchie, Tom Brady, Jared Leto, Jason Statham, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Mario Lopez.

Many of the invited celebrities had already declined their invitations, as confirmed by sources close to them. The responses from The Rock, Sandler, Leto, and Lopez were negative, according to reports. The status of the British celebrities on the invite list remains unknown as neither their representatives nor the White House or UFC have provided comments. This lack of star power highlights a growing issue for Trump in his current term, as his popularity continues to decline.

The President, who often boasts about his supposed landslide victory in the 2024 election, has seen a significant drop in support during his second term, particularly since his ongoing conflict with Iran began three months ago. His approval rating hit a second-year low in May, plummeting to 28%, while disapproval ratings soared to 58%. This sustained level of disapproval has been uncommon for presidents in the past 17 years, including George W. Bush, who never experienced such prolonged low ratings.

Trump’s personal unpopularity has impacted America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, with artists withdrawing from a concert series in Washington DC upon learning of its association with the President. In response, Trump has threatened to host a rally instead, expressing his disdain for the singers who backed out. His divisive rhetoric and declining approval ratings continue to shape his presidency and public perception.
