A man, Joshua Moore, was sentenced to prison for a violent attack where he stabbed a male friend and kicked a woman in the face. The incident took place in Sturminster Newton on September 30, 2025. The woman suffered bruising around her right eye, while the male friend sustained three stab wounds from a four-inch lock knife during the altercation.
After the attack, Moore fled the scene on foot and evaded authorities by dyeing his blond hair black. However, he was eventually located at a hotel in Petersfield, Hampshire, on October 2. Following his arrest and trial, Moore, a resident of Weymouth, was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault by beating. He was sentenced to five years in prison on June 5, 2026.
Detective Constable Emma Oram from Dorset County CID emphasized the severity of the assault, highlighting the potential fatal consequences of such violent acts. She stressed the importance of combating knife crime and ensuring accountability for offenders. The comprehensive investigation led by the police successfully apprehended Moore despite his attempts to evade justice.
