Two individuals were swiftly transported to the hospital following a plane crash in a field near Pitsford. The incident involved a light aircraft that went down close to Northampton around 3:50 pm, prompting a coordinated rescue effort by the police and fire departments.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service announced the closure of surrounding roads to facilitate emergency vehicle access and the evacuation of the aircraft’s occupants. Subsequently, the two injured individuals were handed over to paramedics for initial treatment before being transferred to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire for further care.
According to former local council member James Hill, eyewitnesses, including his children, observed the aircraft performing erratic maneuvers before the crash. Hill recounted that the plane seemed to be struggling and eventually lost stability before descending.
Authorities from Northamptonshire Police have initiated an investigation into the crash. A police spokesperson confirmed the incident involving the light aircraft near Pitsford and indicated that the Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been notified for further inquiry.
