Aldi has recently unveiled a fresh wave of price reductions on more than 200 products.
The discounted items span a wide range of categories, including fresh and frozen foods, pantry staples, household necessities, and personal care items.
Among the featured discounts at Aldi are savings of 50p on selected fresh British beef steaks, such as 30 Day Matured British Rump Steak (now priced at £4.69), 30 Day Matured British Sirloin Steak (now priced at £5.99), and 28 Day Matured British Fillet Steak (now priced at £6.79).
Additionally, Aldi has slashed prices on Gianni Ice Cream Lollies, Watermelon Fruit Lollies, and Ice Cream Cookies, all now available at reduced rates.
Noteworthy reductions in the beers, wines, and spirits category include discounts on New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Aperini Spritz 4-Pack, and Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion.
So far this year, Aldi has dedicated over £200 million to price cuts, with £60 million in reductions introduced recently. However, customers are advised to compare prices elsewhere to ensure they are getting the best deals.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, emphasized the importance of offering value without compromising quality, especially during these times when customers are focused on budget management.
Meanwhile, Waitrose has rolled out more than 160 own-brand product price reductions as part of a £20 million initiative to assist shoppers in saving money. The price cuts, averaging 12%, are effective immediately, with some items seeing reductions exceeding 25%.
Staples like free-range eggs, onions, chicken thighs, apples, frozen peas, chickpeas, and chopped tomatoes are among the items that have been marked down.
Almost half of the reduced products are from the Essential Waitrose range, marking the ninth round of New Lower Prices since 2023 and bringing Waitrose’s total investment to £162.5 million across more than 1,000 items.
In other supermarket news, grocery price inflation has decelerated this month, with prices 3.1% higher than a year ago in May, down from 3.8% in April and 4.3% in March, according to data from Worldpanel by Numerator.
