Body of Missing Man Found: Not Deemed Suspicious

A deceased individual was discovered during the search for a man who went missing. John Hosker, aged 43, did not return to HMP Haverigg in Millom, Cumbria, on January 8 after being granted temporary release for an off-site work commitment. Cumbria Police confirmed that a body was located at 2:05 pm on Thursday (January 22) at Holme Knott, Sedbergh, following a tip from a member of the public.

Although formal identification is pending, the family of Mr. Hosker has been notified. Authorities have stated that the death is not considered suspicious.

A police spokesperson mentioned, “During an investigation into a missing individual from Haverigg Prison, a body was discovered. The discovery occurred at Holme Knott, Sedbergh, around 2:05 pm today after a citizen’s report.”

“The individual was found deceased at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the death are currently not deemed suspicious. The family of John Hosker, who was reported missing on January 8, has been updated.”
