“Pedestrians Struck in Nottinghamshire Medical Emergency Crash”

Three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on a busy road in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, as the driver experienced a medical emergency while driving. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene at lunchtime, with police closing off the road after the incident. The car involved in the collision showed visible damage within a significant police cordon near a Home Bargain store on Main Street.

Upon arrival, three ambulances from the East Midlands Ambulance Service transported the injured individuals to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Currently, there is no information available on the conditions of the pedestrians or the driver involved in the accident.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the incident, stating that they were dealing with a car accident involving three pedestrians on Main Street in Bulwell. The preliminary belief is that the driver suffered a medical episode while driving, leading to the collision. Due to ongoing investigations, the road closure is expected to last for a significant period, prompting authorities to advise finding alternative routes and avoiding the affected area.

The collision occurred a little after 12:30 pm, and ongoing investigations will prolong the road closure, as reported by NottinghamshireLive. The affected road stretch spans from the junction with Station Road to Highbury Road, according to Nottingham Travelwise, the city’s traffic control center. Traffic congestion has been reported from Jennison Street to Ravensworth Road, according to Inrix monitoring services.

This incident follows a previous accident in April where an elderly man in his 80s was hit by a vehicle on the same road. Fortunately, he sustained non-life-altering or life-threatening injuries and was discharged from the hospital after a few days.
