“Man in His Thirties Injured in Suspected Stabbing Incident”

A man in his thirties suffered severe injuries in a suspected stabbing incident that prompted a large-scale emergency deployment on a city street.

An air ambulance landed in a nearby park during the unfolding crisis on Cowick Street, Exeter. Devon and Cornwall Police reported the arrest of a 36-year-old city resident on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detective Superintendent James Dowler stated, “There will be an increased police presence in Exeter, particularly in the St Thomas area, as our investigation progresses.”

In an official statement, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the arrest of a 36-year-old Exeter man on suspicion of attempted murder, who remains in police custody.

Detective Superintendent James Dowler reiterated, “A heightened police presence will remain in Exeter, particularly in the St Thomas area, as our investigation continues.

“Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to come forward.”

A police update disclosed that a man was discovered in the vicinity with “life-changing” injuries believed to be from “suspected knife injuries”.

Devon and Cornwall Police stated, “We are still present in the Cowick Street region of Exeter following reports of a serious assault around 4:30 pm today (Tuesday, December 30).

“A man in his thirties was found with suspected knife injuries in the area and has been transported to the hospital with life-changing injuries.

“Emergency services responded to ensure public safety.

“Cordons remain in place in the Cowick Street area, with continued police presence in the vicinity.”

The significant incident in Exeter has led to cordons on Cowick Street, Prospect Place, and Cowick Park.

Witnesses reported the landing of an air ambulance near the police cordon in St Thomas Park.

Authorities advised the public not to approach any individuals behaving suspiciously in Exeter.

A police statement cautioned, “If you observe suspicious behavior, do not engage but contact the police immediately.”

Police were alerted to an assault around 4:30 pm today and are seeking witnesses who were in the Cowick Street area from 4 pm onwards, urging anyone with information to call 999, quoting log number 492 of 30/12/25.

Devon and Cornwall Police have deployed to Exeter’s Cowick Street area following a severe injury report.

Authorities stated, “One individual was found with a serious injury in the area, and emergency services are on-site to ensure public safety. Cordons are in place at Cowick Street, Prospect Place, and Cowick Park. Police units will be stationed in the area throughout the evening and into the night.”

A witness described, “There is a considerable presence of police and ambulance personnel, along with a helicopter in Cowick Street, Exeter. Five police cars, a police van, and an ambulance van were observed.”
