A group of individuals splashed liquid on a man’s face and proceeded to stab him multiple times outside a hotel in Banbridge. The victim was attacked by the men, all wearing masks, around 8:30 pm on Tuesday, December 23. No arrests have been made, and the suspects are still at large.
Authorities from the Police Service of Northern Ireland are actively investigating the incident. It is reported that one of the assailants hurled a liquid at the victim after getting out of a vehicle.
Despite attempting to flee, the victim fell and was subjected to multiple slashing wounds on his back before the gang escaped in their vehicle. The PSNI received a distress call at approximately 8:30 pm on Tuesday, detailing the attack outside the hotel.
The PSNI statement mentioned, “The males responsible for the assault concealed their faces and were seen driving a black Toyota Avensis. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area between 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm on Tuesday is urged to contact authorities.”
Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to reach out to the police via the 101 number, quoting reference 1447 of 23/12/25. Additionally, those with potential CCTV or dash-cam footage are requested to provide it to aid in the investigation.
