A man received medical treatment for head injuries at an Underground station after an altercation involving knives was reported. The incident occurred at Colliers Wood station in south-west London, prompting police to respond before 10:30 am. Three young men were reportedly involved in the fight, leading to the arrest of a man in his 20s on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening head injuries.

Authorities, along with paramedics, swiftly arrived at the scene, resulting in the closure of the station by Transport for London for approximately five hours. The closure of Colliers Wood station necessitates alternative travel arrangements for passengers, with nearby bus stops offering various routes such as 57, 131, 152, 200, and 219. South Wimbledon Underground Station, just a brief walk away, provides another transit option on the Northern Line.

British Transport Police continue their inquiries into the incident. The station remains closed as detectives delve into the stabbing episode. The police presence includes cordons around the station premises, with officers stationed outside the entrance. Additionally, a police vehicle is visible nearby.

The closure of Colliers Wood station earlier caused delays on the Northern line between Kennington and Morden, but services have since returned to normal. In a separate incident, the Bakerloo line service between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone is disrupted due to an operational issue at the depot, according to TfL.

Situated in the borough of Merton in south London, Colliers Wood Underground Station lies between Tooting Broadway and South Wimbledon stations on the Northern Line. British Transport Police confirmed the altercation involving three individuals at the station, resulting in the arrest of a man in his 20s with non-life-threatening injuries.
