A 15-year-old teenager has been accused of the homicide of nine-year-old Aria Thorpe in Weston-super-Mare, as confirmed by Avon and Somerset Police.
Aria was reportedly murdered in a residence on a tranquil street in Somerset, devastating her family with profound anguish, just ten days before Christmas.
Following a call from paramedics, law enforcement responded to the scene in Weston-super-Mare late Monday evening. Shortly after, a teenage boy was apprehended not far from the site.
The 15-year-old suspect has been detained and is scheduled to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 17. The police stated that the formal identification process is pending completion but confirmed the murder charge against the boy.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Aria’s death resulted from a single stab wound. Aria, who recently celebrated her ninth birthday with a Kpop Demon Hunters party, resided with her mother in a three-bedroom housing association property.
Superintendent Jen Appleford expressed the ongoing support for Aria’s family during this challenging period and emphasized their plea for privacy.
