David Walliams Dropped by Publisher Amid Allegations

David Walliams has been released by publisher Harper Collins due to allegations of inappropriate behavior toward young women. The former Britain’s Got Talent personality, known for his successful children’s books, faced accusations of harassing junior female staff at Harper Collins. HarperCollins UK, under new leadership, has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams.

A spokesperson for Harper Collins stated that the decision was made after careful consideration, emphasizing the company’s commitment to employee well-being. Meanwhile, Walliams’ representative mentioned that the author was unaware of any allegations and had not been involved in any investigation before denying the accusations and seeking legal advice.

These events transpired after Walliams resigned from his Britain’s Got Talent judging role following the disclosure of private comments about contestants during filming breaks. The show addressed the inappropriate language used by Walliams and reiterated expectations for future professional conduct.

Walliams later filed a lawsuit against BGT producers Fremantle, alleging a breach of data protection laws by recording and retaining private conversations for an extended period. In response, Fremantle expressed surprise and sadness over the legal action, stating their willingness to engage in dialogue to resolve the matter amicably while preparing to defend themselves if necessary.
